MINEX Forum was established in 2005 with the aim of assisting Russia with the development of competitive mining and exploration industry through international professional networking, consultations, technical and investment dialogue.

MINEX 2008 PARTICIPANTS:

The 4th annual Russian Mining and Exploration Forum "Minex 2008" was held in Moscow from 1 to 3 October 2008. The role of Russia in the world's mining production became the main theme of forum this year. Over 500 directors and senior managers attended the forum representing leading mining companies, banks, mining consultancies, legal and audit firms, plant- producers of mining equipment, regulatory bodies and legislators. The forum attracted delegates from Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Canada, USA, France, Australia, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland.

Since its inception in 2005 Minex Forum became one of the largest held in Russia international professional meetings aimed at facilitating development of the Mining Extractive Industry. Minex 2008 offered a platform for 19 plenary and technical sessions and feature over 80 reports and presentations and the prominent Russian and International Mining Executives and Experts.

28 Mining and Service companies exhibited at Minex 2008 Expo. The forum was covered by over 40 Russian and International media and Russian National and Business TV channels. In the second year running Minex delegates have selected the winners of the National Mining Excellence Award which was presented at the end of the Forum.

According to the Minex 2008 Forum resolution a permanent Minex representative office and non-commercial organisation JSC Minex will be set up in Russia in 2009. It will be charged with the coordination and management of the Minex initiatives and local events.
